Beth Meigs – Pathway to PEACE

Elizabeth Meigs had a life that many would envy. Popular, athletic, and musically gifted, she excelled in everything she set her mind to. She was a cheerleader, a multi-sport athlete, and a talented singer-songwriter with dreams of making it to the Nashville stage. In fact, she had been in a recording studio cutting a demo tape in the spring of her 8th-grade year. However, everything changed one week into her freshman year of high school.

A devastating car accident left Elizabeth suffering a traumatic brain injury with a survival rate of less than 25%. Overnight, her world was turned upside down. Reduced to the abilities of an infant, once she woke from her coma, Elizabeth had to re-learn how to do everything from walking to talking. The road to recovery was long and arduous, filled with physical, emotional, and mental challenges.

During these challenging years, Elizabeth faced judgment and rejection from many who didn’t understand her struggle. The vibrant, active life she once knew was replaced with a new reality of pain, heartache, and loss. In order to get through, she would have to learn how to persevere and become more resilient with time. Despite the loss of her dreams of performing on the Nashville stage, Elizabeth was able to find new strength and purpose in her journey.

For 4-6 years, Elizabeth would come home from school multiple days a week, telling her parents she should have died in that car accident, believing everything would be easier if she were dead. She would cry out, asking God why He allowed this to happen to her. But in those darkest moments, Elizabeth received a profound answer in the form of a voice on her heart from her higher power, God. The voice brought her the only comfort and peace she would know in the first decade following the horrific accident, saying, “I have a plan for you, you can’t stop, you have to keep going.”

At that moment, Elizabeth realized she couldn’t stop because she wouldn’t wish her suffering on anyone. She knew she was destined to become the support and inspiration that she desperately needed. Twelve years after the accident, Elizabeth graduated with a degree in occupational therapy, where she began to see God’s plan and her purpose come to fruition. 5 years later, she found a church that gave her the platform to share her testimony from a stage, providing hope and inspiration to many more people than she ever could have imagined working a regular 9-5 job.  That’s when her eyes began to open to all the possibilities and ways she could help others on a much larger scale.

In recent years, God has brought clarity to Elizabeth, revealing that the specific strategies she developed during her recovery from the car accident would continue to help her through difficult times as an adult. When she began to write down these strategies, she discovered that modern science has supported their effectiveness in improving mental health for the past 10-15 years (she developed them over 2 decades ago). This revelation led Elizabeth to develop her Pathway to PEACE Program, designed to help others build a strong foundation for stress management and emotional resilience.  So they can also develop healthy coping strategies being able to grow through their challenges instead of remaining stuck in a vicious cycle of chaos and confusion.

Today, Elizabeth is a Transformational Coach who works in virtual group coaching sessions, 1-1 coaching coming soon, helping others to develop their own Pathway to PEACE.
