Tamara (Tami) Murphy is the Founder and President of Extended HR, a boutique HR consulting practice in Minnesota. Before starting Extended HR, Tami spent over 25 years serving as a senior leader in HR for multiple Fortune 500 companies in various industries, including Retail and Manufacturing. She has led strategic projects implementing various HR technology, succession planning, HR department redesign, complete culture and branding change, mergers and acquisitions, ISO implementations, workforce planning, and business reorganization. Those experiences now fuel Tami’s passion for helping businesses become more efficient and effective with their people, processes, and productivity.
Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her passion for continuous improvement and bringing innovation to the table. Her long trail of volunteering and being a member of many boards shows her dedication to making the world a better place. In 2020 she was recognized with seven other women in Southern Minnesota for making a difference. Currently serving on the advisory board for The Customer Experience Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato Professional Workforce Program, so hopes to make a difference again.
Tami enjoys teaching others effective HR practices through her Zoom HR Chat with Tami sessions. She has been a guest speaker and trainer for several organizations, including SMIF, SBDC, SCORE, and many others. When not assisting her clients to grow and prosper, Tami loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, and tackling various upcycling projects.
