Lucius Jonett’s deep-rooted passion as a landscape architect is centered on restoring degraded natural systems and breathing life back into environments that have been damaged or altered. Before founding Midwest Wetland Improvements, Lucius spent eight years at Wenck, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm where he built a highly successful landscape architecture practice. His work spanned various areas of expertise, from urban hydrology and stormwater management to stream and wetland restoration. This diverse experience gave Lucius a comprehensive understanding of the natural and engineered systems that influence landscapes. His engineering background, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, provided the foundation he needed to understand the science of water flow and movement, giving him an edge when it comes to managing natural resources and complex ecosystems.
Lucius’s ability to blend his technical knowledge with his landscape architecture skills has led him to improve over 33 miles of streams and 139 acres of wetlands, making a tangible, positive impact on the environment. His work isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating functional, resilient ecosystems that thrive for years to come.
